My Top Tip for Wedding Season 2018

So...we are at that age where loads of our friends are getting married and wedding season seems never ending. In the UK the average cost of attending a wedding is £266, that's a lot of money especially if you are attending multiple weddings.

Wedding Season is always a tricky time for women, what to wear...what dress...what shoes?? Complimentary hair and make up. Am I overdressed or under dressed. Its a lot to wrap your head around.

To take the stress out of wedding shopping I like to shop for outfits in advance, I mean way in advance I know it may seem a little strange but really it works. I usually attend around 3 weddings every summer, but for a lot of people I know it can be so much more.

So to ease the expense and the stress, I buy outfits in the end of summer or Christmas sales. Summer styles and colours tend to repeat themselves every year, go for classic silhouettes and shades you naturally gravitate to. So you know you will still love the dress next year.

The party season November-December is a great time to buy an outfit for a wedding, it doesn't even have to be a dress, jumpsuits work well too.

The dress I'm wearing is from ASOS and its two years old, I bought in on sale for around £20. Bargain right, so all that was left for me to do was shop my wardrobe for a matching shoe and bag.

The Denim Skirt- Wardrobe Stable

The denim skirt is a modern day, classic wardrobe stable for me.This denim skirt has been worn everywhere this summer, It was purchased at the end of last Summer from Primark for £3. Yep you read that correctly. You gotta love a Primarni bargain right. Denim skirts can take you from day to night in a minute and flatter the fuller figure and the petite too. Loads of celebrities have been rocking the look too..including Rihanna check out her denim on denim looks here and here.

When you’re thinking about what to wear with your denim skirt, you’ll realise you can create almost any look you like.

Transitioning......

I'm not quite sure where to start this post but I just knew I needed to start blogging again. Over the past couple of months my life has gone through so much change and its been an uphill journey but I finally feel like I'm at the top of the hill and things can only get better. New Job, New Love and I literally feel like I'm starting a new life. In some aspects of my life, I'm happier than I have ever been and in some there is definitely room for improvement. What I do know is that I need to get back to chasing my dreams and being the business woman I was destined to be.

I miss interacting with you guys and I cant wait to be posting regularly again. I want to share more and open up more, I have always been scared to do that, but I have started living life differently and I'm all about doing things that enhance my happiness whether it scares me or not.

Life is too short..... so I vow to live intentionally rather than just existing.

Hi, to all my new followers and to my day ones thank you for sticking out this journey with me.

I know that this was a bit all over the place and I promise to expand on love, career and life in later posts.

Happy New Year,

I hope 2017 brings you love, laughter and success abundantly.

I'm not off to the best start as I'm sick in bed writing this post. I hate being sick. 

I'm looking forward to the new year, feeling rejuvenated and looking forward to all 2017 has to offer.

This year I plan to expand the blog, (hope you noticed the new look) start making You Tube videos and create a brand. It's going to be an amazing journey.

I really want this blog to be more of an interactive forum, I want to discuss topics that are close to my heart and that your average 20 something thinks about. Love, Travel. Finances. Inequality in the Beauty Industry. You Tube. Instagram. Body Image......and so much more.

How To Style This Seasons Statement Gillet!

Gilet's....... some people love them and some people hate them, I'm not sure which category you fall into, but they get a thumbs up from me.

They are super easy easy to style, and come in a wide rage of colours, textures and price ranges. This season is of course all about Faux fur and Shearling designs....I'm loving these two styles click here and here.

How To Style:

Wear over dresses and style with Over the Knee Boots

Button up crisp white shirt and skinny jeans

Polo necks and mini skirts, ankle boots or Over the Knee Bots

Gillets can sometimes add weight to you and make you look chunkier that you are, after seeing these pictures I realised that I should have added a belt to cinch in my waist and create some curves. So if  wearing a gillet dont forget to consider adding a belt.

Things to do in Shoreditch London

After the FASHERCISE X JOGHA event (click here to check out the post) I had a stroll through Shoreditch and of course I had to take a couple of pics. The street art is amazing and the vibe is so cool. I did a bit of window shopping at the BOXPARK and then went to one of my favourite places to eat, COTTONS RHUM SHACK. The food is delicious and the atmosphere and service is sooooo good.

It's really easy to get stuck in a routine, when I feel a bit bored and feel like a change I love exploring a new area of London. It's so exhilarating all you need are comfy shoes, an umbrella (British weather) and a camera.

There's always something to see, architecture, street art,clothing boutiques and great places to eat.

The Artist: Dale Grimshaw

This beautiful piece features a pair of Papua New Guinea tribesmen surrounded in a shroud of red smoke. The gaze of the tribesmen is just so engrossing and captivating, you have to see it it's beautiful.

FASHERCISE X JOGHA Pop Up Event in Schoreditch

A couple weekends ago I attended the FASHERCISE X JOGHA Q&A and Pop Up Shop at the Citizen M Hotel in Shoreditch.

If you know London then you will know that Shoreditch is trendy, with beautiful street art, delicious food (checkout Cottons Rhum Shack if you are in the area) and there is always something to do.

Fashercise is a new online platform for stylish active women, selling luxury sportswear from independent young designers from all around the world. The website also covers all things fashion, fitness, healthy eating, beauty and well-being, aimed at real girls, living real lives. The website is all about keeping fit, but having a blast and looking great doing so.

The Event was all about blogging, with a laid back, informative Q & A. At the end we had a chance to view and shop the new JOGHA Infinite collection. If you haven't heard about the brand before its a luxury sportswear brand designed for the modern fashion conscious woman who doesn't want to compromise on technical performance or style when it comes to their sports wardrobe.

The pieces are gorgeous, my fave was the reversible jacket, they are so versatile and can also be dressed up with skinny or boyfriend jeans and heels for that sports luxe vibe. I purchased this muscle tee which I'm yet to work out in because its so pretty and I cant imagine getting all sweaty in it. The material is just so soft and luxurious against the skin that I'm just going to have to wear it as a top. Maybe when it gets a little older I will start wearing it to the gym. Honestly the whole line is a refreshing change from the Adidas and Nike sportswear that's available.

I'm definitely going to pick up some more pieces especially the reversible jacket I just cant decide which one I'm torn between this pink/print and this burgundy/grey. I will keep you updated with which one I purchase.

ooooohhhh and there is a SALE at the moment, and who can resist a sale right.

The Last Minute Dress For Any Occassion

Sometimes an ocassion (wedding, christening, party) just pops up on you and you are left in a headless mode looking for something to wear, even sometimes with a wardrobe full of clothes just staring back at you. Boohoo is my one stop go to site for anything last minute, its super affordable and there is almost always an offer.

This Boohoo off the shoulder dress, is sultry, sexy and bold. Boohoo has really been ticking all the boxes when it comes trendy, sexy  clothing, and I have spent way too much money there over the last couple of weeks so expect to see some more Boohoo pieces.
