Always Black and White

There is just something about black and white...I guess that's why its such a timeless classic. This dress is figure hugging, (thank God for spanx) textured and sexy, what more can a girl want.

Would you believe me if I told you that this dress costs £5.00. Yep that's right it was £5.00. Even though I love high street stores like Primark, Zara and Miss Selfridge. I love shopping at random (non chain) boutiques too. It means if you go to an event you won't be seeing someone else in the same outfit as you as its not mass produced. In the blogging world you can easily get tired of seeing the same shoe or dress doing the rounds in the the blogosphere.

When I saw this dress on sale I just could not resist. It up at a store in picked in Birmingham called Hypnotic.

The shoe and bag combo are from River Island which I picked up about two years ago, I know not everyone likes to be matchy matchy but for me a shoe and handbag combo means that you could just about wear it with anything. River Island have quickly become one of my favourite places to shop for shoes. They are affordable, trendy and if you download the app then there are always discount codes and offers.

I have been enjoying the sunshine and visiting the beach almost daily so if you would like to see more you can check out my Instagram @chandavelle

It's all in the Accessories!!

   Evolution of Style:

Recently I have been all about my accessories, I have always been a shoe lover but these days I have been all about  the bags, shoes, watches and little details that pull an outfit together.  For months now I have been cutting back on the amount of clothes I buy and so I have relied more on my accesories to keep my looks current and fresh.

The Game Changer!

If you wear make up then you would know the hardest thing is trying to find your Perfect Foundation shade, well The Body Shop have recognised the struggle is very real and created Foundation Adjusting Drops.

There are two types, one to make your foundation lighter and one to darken.

Can you imagine no longer having to buy the same foundation in multiple shades to match your skin. I mean that's a huge saving right there.

I recently picked up the darkening drops. I am yet to use this product but I do have about four foundations which are too light for me so I know I will get a ton of use out of this product. Considering 1 drop = 1/2 shade darker these drops will last you a very long time therefore providing great value for your money.

Also I have an upcoming vacation planned where I know I'm going to come back a couple shades darker so I cant wait to test this out.

P.S. There is also a new foundation range called Fresh Nude Foundation which is supposed to be amazing, with a good shade range so check it out guys.

You can buy the Shade Adjusting Drops from the Body Shop here

Has anyone tried it yet? Let me know in the comments what you think.

Primark Loving!

Alot of people have a love hate relationship with Primark but not me its all love. I love mixing items from high street stores. And Primark has to be one of my all time favourites, the stores I like to shop are Oxford Street, Harlow and Watford.

I have really been trying to shop my stash but when I saw these shoes, Of course I gave in to their calls for me to take them home, so I did. These heels are not the most comfortable (I have only worn them once) but they sure do make a statement.

Top Tips for shopping in Primark:

  • If you are low on cash, accessories are an easy way to update your look with the latest trends, so shop shoes, bags, scarves and jewelry.
  • Head straight to the sale rails, trust me there are bargains to be had.
  • Try not to get overwhelmed, there is a lot to look at so either shop for specific items or shop methodically by sections.
  • Allow a reasonable of time for shopping- try not to rush around,
  • Wear a dress (if possible) so its easy for you to try on clothes.
  • Always check labels rather than hangers for sizing.
  • If you cant find an item you are looking for check all around the store as items are often displaced.

Shoe love is true love!

What is it about shoes that makes us ladies fall in love. I mean we only have two feet right, so why do we need some many, I really don't know. Some people collect stamps or coins but I'm a shoe collector. I just cant help myself especially when there is a bargain to be had. These babies were originally £120 but were reduced to £19.99 what a bargain right. I just couldn't resist . I purchased the heels from the Kurt Geiger website however they sold out in a matter of minutes. I was able to find them in on Amazon where they are are available in Red, Black, Blue and Grey, there are limited sizes available so check them out before they are gone.

I cant wait to style these, I'm thinking grey jeans with a grey chunky cardigan, with a red lip of course or dressed up with a black polo neck and an A-line skirts.

These shoes are super comfortable and really make a statement.

Date Night- The Details

Date Night

Date night is a great excuse to get dressed up and look and feel glam. It could also be a time where you try new things or put together outfits that you usually wouldnt wear.
Its great to try new things and break out of our (mental ) boxes.

This outfit for me is all about the details, the eye makeup and the metallic tattoos. Sometimes its nice to go the extra mile and focus on the little details. If I want my eyemakeup to look remotely like the pic then I will need at least another 45 minutes to get ready, because strip lashes and winged eyeliner are not my friend. Hopefully in time and with practice I will improve.

So on your next Date Night (or girls night out) let the little things be the focus.

Neon Summer

Summer in the UK seems to be disappearing really fast, so I,m just really trying to squeeze as much in as possible.  This day was spent in a beautiful park in Birmingham.

Leather shorts are a must for me, throw them on with a grey or white T-shirt, strappy sandals or gladiators. And Immediately you have a stylish, fuss free outfit. Usually that's how I style these shorts but I felt like being glam so I added these lace up leopard print beauties.

Ladies you know that feeling when you feel bloated and you don't want to wear anything tight, well this top is perfect for those days. Its light and floaty with a high low hem, so it looks great with trousers or shorts.

Tuesday= Shoesday

As you may know, I'm a shoe-o-holic, this seasons hottest shoe trend that I am absolutely loving has to be Gladiator sandals, both heels and flats. There is a price range and style to to suit everyone.

I love number 5, they have that boho chic vibe about them that I think would look amazing this festival season.

Be still my beating heart those Sophia Websters are beautiful check them out here on Kendall Jenner.

The weather is so iffy in London, as far as I'm concerned summer is over but I'm still trying to squeeze every last drop, so even though its raining every second day, every now and then there is a bit of sunshine. Also these shoes would still be perfect for a holiday, so book that trip, yep just so you can wear these beautiful shoes!!

My Favourite Places to Shop Online

Ok, so dont let the title of this post fool you, I'm not the biggest fan of online shopping. I like being able to touch and feel the material and carefully inspect what I am buying. Being petite (I'm 4'11) means there is always the worry that something wont fit properly and I hate doing online shopping returns.

However these days I find that I am ordering online more and more so here are my favourite stores.

Occasion Dresses
Vlabel London is a sister company of Virgos Lounge. Their dresses are stunning and at sale season the price is absolutely crazily low. Don't forget to check out the FINAL SALE tab. You wont be disappointed.
This was my last purchase.

One Stop Shop
Missguided has got to be my favourite online shop. Trendy and classic pieces at great quality and price, what more could a girl ask for. At the moment I'm really loving their heels, bodysuits and pencil midi skirts.

Heels
I love Kurt Geiger heels, they never disappoint and this seasons collection, is amazing
Top of my wishlist are these babies......I need them in my life!!!!
The only downside is that these shoes are quite pricey, but sale season you can get a bargain.

Heels 2
Matalan
Ladies do not sleep on Matalan, I love their heels, they don't always get it right, but when they do please know that you will have a gorgeous shoe at a ridiculously low price.
I have bought so many shoes there over the past couple of years that I still get so many compliments on.
So don't sleep on Matalan !
These will be my next Purchase at only £15.00

Cuff Detail Sandal

I have to give an honorary mention to ASOS, Topshop and New Look

Even though I'm not the biggest fan of online shopping there is nothing like the feeling of when your items arrive in the post.
So I guess I will keep on shopping.

Sail Away With Me

Blogging oh how I have missed you.
These days I have been loving shopping at smaller boutiques, don't get me wrong, I'm still loving   High Street chain stores like Primark and Zara but I love wearing an outfit and knowing that its very unlikely that someone will be wearing the same thing. Mass production is just a little too much for me right now.
So the dress is from a a small store in North London called French Kiss, the large sailor style collar was something that I was really drawn to the exposed zip, I know its not everyone's cup of tea, but for me I really don't mind. The print is an embossed diamond shape.

How could I leave this dress behind. I would have had serious buyers remorse.
So it came home with me.

Grey Leather

This great British weather is really something else, one minute a tiny bit of sunshine and then its back to winter.

I woke up to what I thought would be a warm day but by midday it was absolutely freezing, I really wanted to film this outfit, so I suffered through. This whole outfit was created by shopping my stash. Shopping your stash is when you look through the items you already own and rekindle the love you have for these items, sometimes you even find things you forgot you had.

Another way of shopping your stash is to break away from your usual combinations, so lets say you usually wear your favourite red pencil skirt with a white shirt, then try a different combination, perhaps a monochromatic look (head to toe one colour) or choosing different accessories. Mixing and matching clothing can create endless combinations. So the next time time you cant find something to wear, break out of your box and be a little more daring, and mix it up.
