River Island

I have been loving River Island recently. They have some amazing autumn and winter pieces as well as super glam party pieces for the upcoming festive period. I love their bags and shoes also.

I use the RIver Island app to shop and to create wishlists. I'm going to use the wishlists in the sale period so that I buy items I really love, rather than just buying items because they are on sale. The app is super easy to use and navigate, so check it out.

So here's my wishlists:

Let me know if you use any other apps to create wishlists.

                  Thanks for viewing.

My Top Three Series: Powders

The final in this series is Powder.
I never really understood why powder was necessary in a makeup routine but now I really get it. It helps to set the make up in place. I'm not really a heavy make up kinda gal so most days I just wear a small amount of powder. These are my top three:

1. Mac MIneralize Skinfinish Natural (Dark)
2. Maybelline Fit Me (355 Cocunut)
3.Collection 2000 Pressed powder (15 Warm Bronze)

1. Mac MIneralize Skinfinish Natural
This is a great powder which can be used on its own or to set foundation. It's lightweight and it's a bit like a mix of a bronzer and a powder as it leaves an amazing glow. This powder lasts for a very long time so it's definetely worth the Mac price tag.

I apply this powder with a Real Techniques Powder Brush.

This powder is available for £22.00 from Mac Cosmetics online or in stores.

2. Maybelline Fit Me Powder
At first I had a bit of a love hate relationship with this powder until I realised that a little goes a long way. If you use to much it tends to be a little drying and cakey. However a small amount of product sets foundation perfectly. This powder mattifys really well so I highly recommend it for oily skin.

I apply this powder with a Real Techniques Powder Brush.

This powder is available for £5.99 from Maybelline stands at Superdrug and Boots and online.

3.Collection 2000 Pressed Power is a super lightweight powder with a cheap and cheerful price tag. I think this Pressed Powder could easily give competition to some high end rivals. However it has that old school 90's makeup smell which some people may not like. I don't mind it as it reminds me of when my Aunt used to sneak and put a bit of her powder on me.

The only thing I don't like about this powder is the packaging, it looks very cheap and the cover often falls off.

This is a long lasting powder which is perfect for make up newbies, and something I think everyone should try.

I apply this product with a Real Techniques Powder Brush.

This product is available for £1.99 from Collection stands at Superdrug and Boots and Online.

I hope you guys enjoyed reading my top three series.

Thanks for reading.

The Top Three Series: Foundation

Next in the series is foundation. Finding the perfect shade has got to be the trickiest thing about make-up.

My top three tips are:
Never feel pressured to buy foundation.
Try to get a sample wherever possible.
After applying makeup try to view in natural light.

I have been through so much trial and error to try to find the right foundation shade because my skin is oily, I have yellow undertones and my face is a little darker than my neck and décolletage.

I have had my foundation made me look yellow or too red or literally be sliding down my face but hey you live and you learn. With foundation I would say that high end doesn't always give you the best results it's just about what your skin loves.

I have found three foundations that I love and I would continue to purchase.

1.Sleek Beauty Balm: I am in love with this product it is amazing. It leaves a dewy flawless finish. I have worn this foundation and strangers have come up to me in the street and asked what I'm wearing and have been in shock to learn that it's a Sleek foundation. This product offers medium to full coverage with ought being cakey and would be great for those with warm yellow undertones. I absolutely love this foundation and I will continue to repurchase.

The only negative is that there aren't many shades available, but if you do find a shade that matches you. I know you will be happy.

I use a Real Techniques Buffing brush to apply this foundation.

This product is available for £8.99 from the Sleek website, Superdrug and larger Boots and Tesco Stores.

2.Mac Studio sculpt:
This is a great foundation, it has a gel like consistency which allows you to create a even and flawless look. This foundation leaves a dewy finish so too ensure I don't look too shiny I use a mattifying primer      ( see previous post) and a lightweight powder. I have been reaching for this product recently because I am little darker so this foundation is the perfect match. I really like this product and wish it was a little less pricey but that's Mac products for you.

I use a Real Techniques Buffing brush to apply this foundation.

Studio Sculp foundation is available for £22.50 from Mac cosmetics online and in stores.

3.Mac Face and Body
This is a lightweight but buildable foundation almost like a tinted moisturiser. It is great for the summer because it still allows you skin to breathe through, if u have beauty spots or freckles that you would like to show through this would be perfect for you.

This foundation is water based so it's quite runny so it can be tricky to apply. I like to apply this foundation with my fingers or the Elf Powder brush.

This product is available to purchase for £27.00 from Mac cosmetics online and in stores.

Find the right foundation takes along time    So try to be patient and don't rush it.

The Top Three Series: Primers

Trying to find the right makeup to suit your skin type and your preference can be very challenging. My top three series will hopefully help make-up newbies to find great products.

I'm going to start the series with primers.  The right Foundation Primer can help create a flawless look.  Having oily skin, finding a great primer was quite difficult but after loads of trial and error I have finally found three primers I would use over and over again. They are ranked in order of preference.

1.17 Miracle Matte Skin Primer.
I absolutely love this primer it is amazing. I recently went on holiday to the Carribean and I wore makeup occasionally and this primer held my makeup together in the blazing sun. It did not budge as soon as you put it on you know it's soooo good because it mattifys your face. I highly recommend this product If u have oily skin. I think it would be great for a night out. I have repurchased this primer and will continue to do so. I absolutely love it and for me nothing else comes close. The price is fairly reasonable at £5.00 as a little goes a long way. This primer is sold at boots.

I wouldn't recommend this primer for anyone with dry skin however just because it's sooo mattifying.

2. Collection Primed and Ready Smoothing Makeup Primer
This is a great primer which actually does what it says and leaves a smooth finish. It is also mattifying without being drying. It gives a dewy skin look without being oily. I will continue to repurchase this primer. The cost is £2.99 and is available from Boots and Superdrug.

3.GOSH Foundation Primer Classic
This primer would be a great everyday primer for those with combination skin. I wouldn't say it's very mattifying as it leaves a very dewy finish, so it probably wouldn't be too good for super oily skin. The gel like consistency of this primer creates a smooth base for foundation. This product is a great everyday primer but the other two products are so amazing that I always find myself reaching for them.
This primer is available from GOSH makeup stands at both Boots and Superdrug for £9.99.
